I haven’t always been a nutritionist and I spent nearly 20 years in the corporate world with a 9 to 5 job leading a very sedentary life barely moving throughout the day unless I was going from meeting to meeting, eating lunch at my desk and getting to and from the office in the car.
Over time, I not only found this life less and less satisfying but I noticed it was taking a toll on my own health. I gradually put on weight over the years, didn’t exercise enough, started getting recurrent illnesses like tonsillitis and had episodes of heart palpitations. Not only could I see my own health deteriorating but also that of those around me.
I made a decision to do something about all of this and made changes to my diet and lifestyle. When I did this I noticed the changes it made, not only did I start losing weight but I wasn’t getting ill as often, stopped getting the heart palpitations and I also slept better and had a lot more energy throughout the day. I’d been so accustomed to what I thought was my ‘normal’ I was so surprised by the results to my overall health and wellbeing.
After seeing the powerful effect of these changes I knew I wanted to do more and decided to train as a Nutritional Therapist and start Helen Jane Nutrition.
I am undertaking 3 years training to become a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist through the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) where I have learnt the biochemistry of the body, how our body systems work and how they are all interlinked along with learning how to get to the root cause of peoples symptoms and the best plans to put in place based on science and research to support clients through to optimum health and wellbeing.
One of the key principles that I have learnt is that every client and case is individual and so there is no one generic answer for everybody or for every condition. You are unique and therefore any recommendations I make should be just tailored just for you.
I started Helen Jane Nutrition so I could share everything I have learnt with people to help them feel their best and support their journey back to wellness.
If you want to know more about how I can help you then please get in touch through the contact page.
As a Nutritional Therapist I will listen to you and provide you with expert advice to enable and empower you to make diet and lifestyle changes that will give you and your body what is needed to reach optimal health. I will always work alongside your current care and treatment plans from your primary care physician and never against them.
I never apply a one size fits all approach and all recommendations will be tailored specifically to you.
I offer all my consultations online so can help anyone, anywhere in the world.
