NUTRITIONIST CAMBRIDGE

Meet Helen - Your Nutritionist Cambridge

Helen Jane is a leading Nutritionist Cambridge. I spent many years like so many other people working in an office environment which brought with it stress, lunches at my desk which consisted of meal deals or whatever ever was quick and comforting from the canteen and the only movement being my walk from the car to my desk and back again at the end of the day. This lifestyle took a toll on my health, I gained more and more weight and I also then started to struggle with my blood pressure, my blood sugar levels and also getting symptoms like heart palpitations, not to mention feeling constantly tired. After spending too much time in the doctors I decided to do something about this and looked into what I could do through dietary and lifestyle changes. I was amazed at just how much a difference relatively simple changes made to my health and wellbeing without any medication.

Seeing what results I could get through nutrition and how fascinating the topic is led me to retrain as a Nutritional Therapist spending three years studying with the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CMM) learning about biochemistry and how our bodies function through to various conditions and how they can be supported through diet, lifestyle and supplements.

I now want to share this with as many people as possible and help people get back to their best possible health through relatively simple changes.

As a Nutritionist Cambridge I help many people across the UK as well as in Cambridge through 121 online  consultations so get in touch to see how I can help you.

Conditions Supported by Nutritionist Cambridge

Prediabetes

Nutrition and lifestyle changes can make a real difference to your prediabetes by balancing your blood sugars and keeping your energy levels even throughout the day, preventing it from progressing to type 2 diabetes and even bringing levels down, all without cutting out your favourite foods.

Menopause

There are many symptoms associated with the menopause and perimenopause and a number of these can be improved through making small changes to your diet. Whether you are struggling with hot flushes, brain fog, low energy, headaches or more then get in touch to find out how diet can help.

IBS

So many people struggle with digestive issues on a daily basis or have been diagnosed with IBS without knowing what to do and thinking this is just how it has to be and ‘it’s normal for me’. You shouldn’t have to live with bloating, constipation, reflux or diarrhoea so get it touch for the help you deserve

PCOS

The number of people diagnosed with PCOS is increasing, but knowing how to help is still hard to come by.  I see many clients with PCOS and by making small changes to diet and lifestyle that all stack up and looking at underlying causes to create more balance can help support you and your condition.

Weight Loss

I see more clients for weight loss than anything else because cutting through all the fad diets and contradicting advice on the internet can be hard. I will help you lose weight in a sustainable way so it stays off  without having to give up whole food groups like carbs so you can still enjoy what you eat.

Low Energy

Do you struggle with your energy throughout the day? Is it lower than you want it to be? Do you get the dreaded afternoon slump?  If you do then I can help by supporting you to balance your blood sugar levels giving you consistent energy through the day through eating the right foods at the right times.

Nutritionist Cambridge Consultations

Most of my time is spent working with clients on a 121 basis and this where I can really help people.  If you are struggling to lose weight, get your blood sugar levels under control, want more energy or to support your menopause symptoms or digestive issues then a personalised plan is what you are looking for.  I don’t believe in a one size fits all approach as everyone is different and individual and so your plan should be too.

All consultations are conducted online using Zoom and so I not only work as a nutritionist in Cambridge but can work with people across the UK from the comfort of their own homes.

Everyone’s experience will be different when we work together as some people need more regular consultations, especially if you need a bit more accountability to stay on track and others will need a lot less and just 2 or 3 consultations can be enough to make a difference.  We will discuss which options are best for you before we start so you don’t end up having to pay for more consultations than you need to but you still get the right level of support.

FREE 20 MINUTE CALL: Everyone starts their journey with a free 20 minute call where you can tell about your symptoms and what you’re looking for support with and what your health goals are.  I will then talk you through the process of working together and what you can expect and answer any questions you may have.

After your call and you decide to proceed we will book in your consultations and you will get a comprehensive questionnaire to complete which allows me to link things together and get to the root cause of your issues. The questionnaire also includes a food and lifestyle diary so we can see what changes you can make to your current way of eating taking into account your likes and dislikes.

INITIAL CONSULTATION: Everyone has an initial consultation regardless of how many consultations you go on to have or what health goals you might have. The initial consultation lasts 75 minutes and allows an opportunity for a deeper conversation discussing your goals, symptoms, and the changes you could make. This will then form the basis of your personalised plan. We can also discuss any testing options should we think them beneficial.  You will always get your plan and any supporting resources including recipes within 48 hours of the initial consultation.

COST FOR INITIAL CONSULTATION: £200

FOLLOW UP CONSULTATIONS: Follow up Consultations are an opportunity to review how you’ve been getting on with your original plan and make any changes or tweaks that may be necessary to keep you on track to achieve your health goals. They last up to 45 minutes. Follow Up appointments are generally held every 4-6 weeks after the last to allow time for changes to be seen.   For people that require more accountability, such as those looking for support with weight loss then more frequent follow up sessions are beneficial.  These consultations can also be used to discuss any test results you may have had and make your plan even more specific based on the results.

COST FOR FOLLOW UP CONSULTATIONS: £120

PACKAGES are also available for those looking to book in multiple follow up sessions along with the initial consultation. Packages available include:

TRANSFORMATION PACKAGE: £390

This includes 1 initial consultation, 2 x 45 minute follow ups, 10% discount on recommended supplements, free resources, handouts and recipes and email support throughout.

ELITE PACKAGE: £590

This includes 1 initial consultation, 2 x 45 minute follow ups and 3 x 30 minute check ins. You also get the 10% discount on recommended supplements, free resources, handouts and recipes and email support throughout.

Nutritionist Cambridge FAQ's

We can do a lot with dietary changes alone, as the saying goes, ‘you can’t out train a bad diet’. However, as a nutritional therapist in Cambridge I also recommend other lifestyle changes as part of your plan as you need to ensure stress and poor sleep don’t impact your health goals and exercise and nature can also play a big role in your progress. In fact getting out in nature can have amazing benefits and so I recommend taking time out by the river Cam or perhaps visiting the Cambridge University Botanic Gardens (CB2 1JE), or taking a walk round Milton Country Park (CB24 6AZ) or Jesus Green (CB5 8BL)

I am a Cambridge Nutritionist, however, as all consultations are conducted online it means I can work with anyone anywhere in the country.  You don’t need to worry about travel across the city or to another part of the country. As long as you’ve got somewhere comfortable and peaceful to sit down, all you need is a wifi connection.

I often get asked this question for people looking for healthy options when they go out. The first thing though is to say you should always still be able to go out and enjoy yourself and not worry too much about what you’re having, it’s all about consistency and getting back to your plans the next day and not just waiting for Monday to come around. That said, these are some of Helen’s favourite places to eat in Cambridge:

  • Stem & Glory Cambridge – 50-60 Station Road, Cambridge, CB1 2JH
  • Thrive – 5-7 Norfolk Street, Cambridge, CB1 2LD
  • Cafe Blue Sage – 198 Mill Road, Cambridge, CB1 3NF
  • The Garden Kitchen – 82 Mill Road, Cambridge, CB1 3AS
  • Vanderlyle – 38 Mill Road, Cambridge, CB1 2AD

As  I conduct all my consultations online I can keep my costs lower to pass on to you. The amount it costs will depend on how many appointments you need to achieve your health goals.  Prices start from £150 for an initial consultation or £90 for a follow up appointment and I also offer great value packages with a number of consultations plus plenty of added extras.  For more details on what you get you can visit the About Your Consultation page.
